LICENSING

Expander Energy offers licensing opportunities for its suite of innovative clean fuel technologies, enabling partners worldwide to produce high-value, low-carbon renewable fuels. Our portfolio is protected by intellectual property rights globally.

OUR LICENSED TECHNOLOGIES

EBTL™ (Enhanced Biomass to Liquids) Process
  • Expander Energy is the sole owner of this advanced, integrated process technology.

  • EBTL™ is designed for deep decarbonization, converting cellulosic biomass into premium Bio-SynDiesel® and Bio-SynJet®. It provides a clear pathway to near-zero or even net-negative emissions through its integration with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS).

  • This process is patented or has elements with patents pending worldwide

FLEXIBLE INTEGRATION

While our ETI Tar-Free Gasifier is optimized for wood waste and similar cellulosic biomass, Expander Energy also has cooperation agreements in place. These allow for the integration of other proven third-party gasification technologies within our EBTL™ and BETL™ process frameworks. This flexibility enables our licensed processes to effectively convert more complex feed streams, such as Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), into clean syngas suitable for producing our high-quality liquid fuels.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD

Expander Energy has a history of successful technology development. We initially developed the Enhanced GTL (EGTL™) technology for converting natural gas to synthetic fuels. This technology was subsequently sold to Rocky Mountain Clean Fuels Inc., facilitating the successful start-up of Canada’s first small-scale GTL facility near Calgary, Alberta, in January 2022. This achievement underscores our capability to develop robust, commercially viable process technologies that are attractive for real-world industrial application.
