Expander Energy Completes Front End Engineering for Alternate Fuel Refinery, and Files for 3 Proprietary Process Patents
Calgary, Alberta, Canada -Expander Energy has completed its preliminary front-end engineering design (pre-feed) study as a prelude to building the first enhanced gas to liquids refinery from multiple feedstocks, including natural gas or high carbon content waste materials such as biomass or municipal solid waste.
"This is a significant step forward for Expander," stated company CEO Jim Ross. "Now we are ready for the next phase which is selecting a site and finalizing the details for the plant. We truly believe that this next generation of engineered fuels will revolutionize the alternative fuel industry in Canada."
The company has also developed an enhancement to the Fischer-Tropsch (EFT) process that will maximize the production of high value synthetic fuel from multiple feedstock sources. This gives tremendous opportunity and versatility for the process as it can be adapted to various environments, and will be significant in creating a clean burning, zero sulfur fuel, which exceeds the ASTMD975 standard for diesel and jet fuels.
To this end Expander has applied for 3 proprietary process patents relating to refinements and enhancements of the FT technology that it believes are truly innovative and have far reaching implications for the energy industry moving forward.
Expander Energy Inc. (Expander) is a privately held energy company focused on the production of Engineered Synthetic Fuels from high carbon renewables and residuals feedstocks in combination with natural gas. The production design capacity of Expander's next generation facility will be 375,000 litres per day (up to 2500 bpd) of "SynDieselTM" and "SynJetTM" synthetic fuels.
